Literature
Some authors believe that it was al Qaeda which planned and carried out the terror attack, and that at the very least parts of the U.S. government knew about the plan, but refrained from taking action to prevent it. Others believe that it was not al Qaeda, but solely the U.S. government who worked in secret with the military, the financial world, the Jews, the media, and leading politicians, all of whom made it look as if the terror attack was carried out by the 19 terrorists from al Qaeda. Others again believe that it was the aliens who did it.
Despite the theories pointing in all directions, the various factions often refer to each other, and typically use the same claims and quotes.
Here is listed some of the trendsetting books along with a brief biography of the authors.
Kevin Barrett
Barrett has taught at universities and colleges and is an Arabist-Islamologist scholar. He has degrees in English literature, and in French and African languages.
In 2005, he attempted during a trip to Morocco to apprehend and arrest Waleed al-Shehri, one of the five terrorist who died while hijacking Flight 11, when it hit the World Trade Center 1.
Barrett is known for having expressed antisemitic views, and has been described by the Anti-Defamation League, an International-Jewish lobby organization, as as one of the leading antisemitic forces in the Truth Movement.

David Icke
Icke used to be a sports journalist and spokeperson for The Green (UK), but was told in 1990 by a psychic that he was placed on planet Earth to spread the messages of extraterrestrial supernatural beings.
During the years, Icke has developed his New Age-inspired ideas. He claims that the power elite really consists of a mixed race of humans and space reptiles. George W. Bush and Queen Elizabeth should thus really be these creatures, which possess the ability to shapeshift.
According to Icke, the terror attack on September 11, 2001, should be part of the overall plan for the take-over of earthlings by the space reptiles.
